Refunds
Last updated: 30 August 2026
The short version: Get outbid and your whole deposit is refunded automatically, to the same card, no action needed. The only deposit that is ever kept is a winner's, and only if the balance goes unpaid for 7 days.
When you get your deposit back
- Someone outbids you: your entire deposit is refunded automatically to the card that paid it, the moment their bid clears. You do not have to ask.
- I refuse or remove your logo: your bid is cancelled and your deposit comes back in full.
- I cancel the auction before it closes: every deposit is refunded in full.
- The car is lost, stolen, or totaled during your season: your decal moves to the replacement car, or you get a pro rata refund for the time remaining, whichever you prefer.
Refunds go back to the original card. Stripe issues them immediately; your bank usually shows the money within 5 to 10 business days.
When you don't
- You cannot cancel a bid yourself, so there is no refund for changing your mind. Your deposit comes back the moment someone outbids you, and if nobody does, you have won the spot.
- A winner who does not pay the balance within 7 days of the close forfeits the deposit, and the spot may be offered to the next highest bidder.
